Training is key to a happy, well-socialized dog.
We use a compassionate approach to teaching which nurtures in your pet
loyalty, dedication, and outstanding performance. We offer a
range of classes: Basic, Intermediate, Agility
(See details below). Classes
are structured so that you work with your dog in a group
setting, with classes typically running one hour.
Classes:
Basic Obedience
Learn basic handling skills as you teach
your dog to walk properly on a lead. Your dog goes on to
learn Recall commands (Come, Sit, Down), and to run through
a tunnel, learning to be comfortable in new environments.
You will be taught basic dog care and how to massage your
dog as part of performing a health check.
Schedule:
Intermediate
Build on what you learned in
Basic Class. Your dog will strengthen its
socialization and obedience skills while you improve your
handling skills. Learn to heel your dog with the leash
hanging loosely at your side, with no pulling from your pet;
improve your turns and learn new ones like “about turn” and
figure eights; improve the length and quality of your dog’s
stays; and command your dog from a distance using the sit
and down commands. Begin some agility work.
Schedule:
Agility
Agility class combines learning, fun,
and friendly competition, with a high level of activity for
both handler and dog as they run side by side, with
performance measured by the clock. Your dog will learn to
respond to advanced verbal and hand signal communication
skills while completing a variety of agility obstacle
courses that include jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and
raised-ramp walkways. Mastering these obstacle courses
sharpens your dog mentally and physically.
